The song "Purple and Red" was first penned on a purple and red Christmas card. I was too lazy to get up and find white paper! The colors evoked for me the sense of the extravagant, rich, over-the-top kind of love that is shown to us in Jesus Christ. Not only are these the colors of royal clothing in days past, but they are also the colors of Christ's bruised and beaten body on the cross.
