Biography

theREIGN was formed in late 2002, primarily as a showcase for lead singer David Cooper's songwriting, but swiftly grew beyond that original plan, as God placed on their hearts a vision for lively (loud) worship.

Since then they have taken their worshipful rock style beyond their hometown to Essex and Devon as well as the Greenbelt Festival.

Following a highly successful Greenbelt Stage 2 performance in 2006, the band were invited to lead worship as part of the formal festival programme in 2007, introducing the world to "Communion on the Rocks", a lively Anglican Eucharist underpinned by worship songs, theREIGN's own material and a good helping of classic rock riffs from the likes of Nirvana, U2 and Fleetwood Mac.

They are hoping to take Communion on the Rocks back to Greenbelt in 2008, but in the meantime it is touring a number of local churches.

The band have released two, well received CDs of their own material, Sing (2003) and Where Jesus Touches The Earth (2006).
