How Precious is your Bible A ships mate once challenged a chaplain with this question.” How is it that you are always talking to my men about this Jesus of yours“. “Have you ever seen Him “,asked the shipmate sarcastically. “No I have never seen Him “,replied the chaplain in all honesty.” Then how can you tell a man to trust in someone you have never seen , I see no sense in that at all”, laughed the shipmate. ”Well replied the chaplain, when you head for a place of refuge in a storm, what sense is there in telling your men to let go the anchor when they cannot see the ground below the waves ? “On what principle do you trust you ship and your very life to ground you have never seen with your own eyes” said the chaplain. “Oh said the shipmate we go by our chart that has mapped out the depths of the sea and the land below“. “Exactly replied the chaplain and holding up his Bible he said I too go by my chart and it is an Infallible one while yours is not“. “My chart tells me of the only sure ground of my salvation and the atoning work of Christ upon the cross“. “My faith like your anchor takes hold of this unseen ground and so rides out the storms of life in peace and safety“. Be assured of your Bible my friends it stands not because of us or because of the world .It stands and has stood throughout the ages because it is the Infallible word of God. It has endured attacks from all quarters from Scientists from Politicians from Pop stars to Film stars and sadly even from ministers of God and after all attacks it stands still. When we had some Ukranian brothers and sisters in Ireland this year speaking on the persecuted church they were very sad to see that some brothers and sisters were leaving their Bibles on the floor at meetings. One of our Ukranian brothers reminded us of how his brothers and sisters had died for their Bible .They had great respect for the word of God and would die for it rather than rip it or burn or discredit it in any way to get freedom. Many even died for it young and old .They reminded us that the floor is the place our feet walk on and that all the dirt from the world is on the floor and that if our Bible was precious to us then it should have a place of honour and respect in our lifes. If we loved our Bibles they would not be left at the lowest place but held with great love, preciousness and affection. The Greatest Gift |

The greatest Gift In eastern lands the story is told of the great Shah Abbas who delighted in mingling in disguise with the common folk of his realm. Once dressed in wretched rags he descended to the lowest part of his palace, where one of his humblest servants sat tending the furnace. Each enjoyed the others company and over the days the furnace tender shared his meagre lunch with his companion .Days passed and weeks passed as each sat in the others company. Over time a deepening friendship developed though the servant had no idea of his new found friends true identity. At last the Shah revealed his identity and waited ready to grant whatever petition the servant might ask of him but the servant sat silent gazing upon the Shah in wonder. Finally the Shah spoke and said ,Haven’t you understood ?” “I can make you rich and noble, I can give you a city, I can appoint you as a great ruler. “Have you nothing to ask ?”. “Yes my Lord I understand the furnace tender replied You have left your glorious surroundings to sit with me in this dark place, to partake of my coarse fare and to care whether my heart is glad or sad.” You can give me nothing more precious than that you have given to me already. “On others you may bestow rich presents but to me you have given yourself, it only remains to ask that you never withdraw this gift of your friendship”. Now my friends If we look to Christ and reflect on this story we can see one who came down from the glory of Heaven One who gave all on the cross of Calvary One who walks beside us each and every step of the way. One who comforts One who listens and one who meets our every need. We to can truly say to Jesus as the furnace tender said to his Shah , but to me you have given yourself, it only remains to ask that you never withdraw this gift of your friendship. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. First trip to USA! Well friends my first trip is over and gone. It went so fast, so much to do so little time. First thing I had to get used to was re-adjusting my time clock. 2 Flights and 2 time changes as well. Finally I arrived in Tacoma Seattle and Charles and Kathy from the group Higher Call were there to meet me at the airport and welcome me to America. After a few hours sleep and I mean a few hours it was time to get up bright and early. This was my way of re-adjusting my body clock quickly so that I could sleep at night. It worked well as I found out later that night. Before going to America I had been praying that the Lord would let me meet people who needed to be encouraged and Charles was also praying for this. Throughout the week everywhere we went we meet people that the Lord had placed in our path. In one music shop we meet a young man called Colin who shared his testimony with us and we prayed with him there and then in the music shop. Colin wants to get involved more in Praise and worship and find a good church that will encourage him and build him up in the faith. Please pray for Colin in the days ahead. Charles and Kathy went beyond what would have been expected of any host. They showed me as much of the beauty of Washington State as they could in the time we had. We had started of as e-mail buddies on shout life but soon became firm friends and I enjoyed their company and fellowship more and more each day. Charles made one of my boyhood wishes come true and that was to dress me up as a cowboy. I got into the role quite well only no horses but we did have everything else we needed after one visit downtown to the local Country and Western store and then that was me rigged out for the week. At night we visited a few churches in the area and attended a Barbeque at church after which I was asked to give a word of Testimony and talk about the Mission work that I am involved in. I was pleased that many were encouraged by my Testimony and the Mission report and my thanks go to the Pastor for his invite to speak. During the week I was also shown a war cemetery and it was good to reflect on and pray for what freedom cost for us all and reflect on the many young life’s that have been lost in battle. On Sunday I was invited to sing and testify at another church and Charles accompanied me on the keyboard. Again the Lord encouraged all who were present including myself for the love and fellowship of being with His people. During the week I had the joy of singing a few of my songs with the group Higher Call and my thanks to them for their encouragement and letting me hear what my songs sound like with a full band playing alongside. I was also invited to a school graduation which I looked forward to as I had only ever seen one on TV. I enjoyed watching the graduation and listening to all the young people as they started looking forward to adult life. Charles and Kathy showed me the beauty of Mount Rainer and many other beautiful areas of Gods creation . I also was able to see Elk for the first time ever, 23 spotted in 2 hrs is that a record ? I also was able to see Deer and Lama’s and Racoon`s.The only downside was when we passed over a dead Skunk on the road and I was able to smell something that I have never smelt before or wish to ever smell again. On my last night Charles sat up late into the night to make Cds that I could take home to help me and encourage me and I am grateful to him for his time effort and commitment. Kathy also amazed me each day with her good food and I miss my Chicken sandwiches Kathy more and more each day. I was also introduced to a Corn dog and a new taste to me of A1 sauce which is now home with me ready for use . During the week I was able to speak to some brothers and sisters in Christ from shoutlife on the telephone and it was indeed a real blessing to me to converse with them. So thanks Jackie and Joseph and my apologies to David who had tried to contact me. Upon reflection I enjoyed my time in Tacoma and was encouraged and blessed with each new day. Special thanks to Charles and Kathy for their time and commitment to me each and every day. I really appreciated everything they did and enjoyed listening to Charles playing keyboard and singing his own songs. I look forward to listening to them when he puts them on to shout life. What next I wonder, well I will have to wait on the leading of the Lord but I still feel drawn to singing at a Christian festival or Praise event. If any one would like to recommend me to anyone feel free to get in touch or pass on my details to the organiser’s. I do not seek payment for singing or preaching . My payment is to be put up with a Christian family for fellowship and that I am able to encourage the children of God. That is payment enough indeed. I was able to give away over 90 Cd`s in total to people I meet each day during my time in Washington State and I look forward to getting some feedback in the coming weeks and months on how they were received or hopefully on new doors opening through others listening to the music. On the way home everything went well until my flight arrived in at Newark and on time. Unfortunately we sat on the runway for an hour as plane number 7 waiting to unload passengers and luggage. I had to catch my second flight to Belfast at 9pm leaving at 9.20pm.We finally got unloaded at 9pm and by the time I made my way to the check in desk my flight had left. I was sent to a hotel for the night arriving at 12 midnight and pizza was ordered for a meal. I had checked my ticket very quickly and could see 9.00am and 8.45pm on the ticket which I assumed was the time I had to be back at the airport for next morning. At the hotel over 70 people had missed connecting flights. I asked what time the shuttle left again for the airport in the morning and I was informed that the first shuttle left at 4am.I therefore arranged a wake up call for 3am and the hotel kept my breakfast voucher even though I had informed them that I would not be staying for breakfast. Perhaps they needed it more than I did ? It was very warm in the hotel and hard to sleep but I was up again at 3am showered and ready to go. At 4am I was on the shuttle and on my way to the airport with a few hours to spare or so I thought. At the airport I used the only voucher I had left for 8 Dollars and added some dollars to it and I had a coffee and some sandwiches for breakfast. I arrived at the check in desk and presented my ticket for the 9am flight and I was informed that the flight was not 9am but 9pm. With 3hrs sleep since 7am on Wed morning I now had over 16 hrs still to wait for my flight home. I now know how Tom Hanks must have felt in the film The Terminal as I walked around and around all day long from one shop to the next, from one coffee stop to the next from one hour to the next. I tried to sleep on 4 occasions but with all the tannoy information sounding out every few minutes it was impossible to sleep. Nevertheless always look for a positive in a negative situation. As I walked around I came across a shop that would put any emblem on a hat that you purchased inside so in I went and I asked for Jesus to be placed on the front of the red hat that I had picked. I paid for the hat put it on my head and went on my walkabout and watched as people looked at the name on my hat. Some people came forward and we talked about the Lord and some people were smiling and nodding stating that they were Christians to. One young man shouted out, Nice Cap brother! I had 3 Cds still left and I meet 3 people that I know the Lord wanted me to give the Cds to that day. After I had handed out the Cds I prayed for the people who had received them that they would know and be encouraged in the Lord. I had by now become quite an expert at checking the departure screens and eagerly awaited the Belfast flight to appear. Eventually it appeared only to change the departure gate 4 times. On the 4th change I informed the flight crew who were waiting at the 3rd gate that we now had a 4th change and new gate to go to. After what seemed like an eternity I boarded the plane and even though there were some excellent films to watch I feel asleep from sheer exhaustion on the plane and did not even wake for the in flight meal. Upon arrival in Belfast I waited on my luggage as all other luggage was collected by my fellow passengers but my alas my luggage did not appear. I checked with the airport staff and they were able to inform me that my luggage had made it home on the previous nights flight. Amazing I thought, the wonders of modern technology as my luggage had no legs it could not run it had no brain to think with no voice to ask for directions but amazingly it arrived home before I did. Must be a new type of luggage I thought to myself I have not heard of before. I thought of a new name and called it Intelligent luggage or smart luggage for short. I must start a patent I could make a fortune with this idea.! Well my friends I want to thank you all for your support your telephone calls your shout mails your guest book comments and most importantly for your prayers. With your prayers know that souls have been encouraged in the Lord and you have my heartfelt thanks for this. God bless you all! p.s. Well my friends the countdown is on for my first visit to the US.I will be leaving on Wednesday morning the 4th June for Tacoma Washington.I will be staying with Charles and his wife Kathleen from the group Higher Call on my shoutlife profile page. Please remember us in your prayers for the doors that have been opened to minister and that we may encourage each other and all that we come into contact with in the Lord. Gods value not the worlds |

This is the story of an old man who could not carry a tune in a syrup bucket, but he loved to sing, even if it was off key he loved to sing. He sang at every opportunity in church that he could but he got to involved in the goings on and forgot himself and carried on singing even when others had stopped. Four of the more well to do members of the church decided that this old fellow was just to crude for the congregation.They appointed themselves as the ones to go and talk to the old man. When they arrived at the old fellow`s house he was in the field plowing with his old mule. Though it was beneath their dignity they finally walked out through the dusty soil which soiled their fine clothes to talk to the old man. Brother James they began, “We want to talk to you about your singing, not meaning any offense but you just cannot sing. We wish you would not try to sing so loud because frankly your singing is ruining our services! I am sorry the old fellow replied but it is just that when I look at these old clothes that I wear and then I think of them robes that God has for me, I just cannot help singing. Then as I look over at that old shack that I live in and realize that it can fall at any time, I think about the beautiful mansion that God has prepared for me in heaven, I just have to sing praises to my Lord. This old hat that I wear upon my head reminds me of that crown that God has for me and when I am reminded of these things I just have to sing in praise to the lord that I love. As a matter of fact I feel like singing now. The four men walked away with their heads bowed as the old fellow kept singing his heart out in praises to the Lord. They began to view the old timer in a different light now, one said you know his singing is not really that bad. Another said, I never really realised how sweet his voice really is. The third said I just hope that God will allow me to sing in the same group that he sings in. You know we can be tied up to much in the worlds values instead of appreciating what God values . Well it is getting near that time of year again.Driving home from work the other day I began to think that it was time to start writing a new song for Christmas and I felt the leading of the Lord. Words began to flow and I had to stop the car and write them down.Upon arriving home I brought out the guitar and started to write down more and 15 minutes later I started to record the song and 10 minutes later it was done.I have tried to record it again but feel that the first recording is the best straight from the heart. As Christmas is all about the free gift sent from above then this song is my free gift to you to remember the real meaning of Christmas and not the worlds meaning. Good news from the mission field |

The faith in action mission team are in the Ukraine at present and over the past few days 13 souls have come to the Lord in one prison and today Sunday the 14th October another 5 souls came to the Lord in another prison. As well as this children have also trusted in Christ as Saviour in some of the orphanages that were visited.Please pray that the Lord will encourage these new believers in the days ahead and for journeying mercies as the team travel home on Wednesday. Please pray for a container packed today for Belarus.The container contains toys and shoe boxes for Christmas for Orphans as well as medical aid for people suffering from MS.There is also items on the container for churchs.There will also be a container arriving in Ukraine soon which was sent a few weeks ago.The Ukraine container contained 14 electric hospital beds,109 hospital mattresses as well as life support machines,heart monitors and 2 ultra sound machines.Also clothing for orphans and computers for the christian school and prison ministry.A team will also be going out to Ukraine in October to do the ministry side of the work and to encourage Gods people and preach the gospel of salvation.Please remember this work as the aid especially goes into 9 hospitals now that have opened the door for the gospel.One hospital alone covers 7 million people in Ukraine so many souls will hear the gospel and will see the provision of the Lord. I have been humbled to be placed as feature CD on www.windsofpraise.com this date 4/9/07. As a result it is attracting a lot of interest to my songs on mychristianbands. Please pray for the chidren from the 2 christian schools in Ukraine. Some of them will be coming to Northern Ireland for 2 weeks from the 3rd of August. They will be singing in many churches as well as enjoying the sights. I have uploaded new photographs of my recent trip to the Ukraine. You will see the state of childrens shoes and the poor condition of the hospital beds. You will also see a picture of the young orphan girl that started me on my road to songwriting. The Lord has supplied new shoes and socks for all the orphans in the 2 orphanages that we visited on ths trip. It was also good to see the new beds and mattresses in the hospitals also supplied by the Lord. The Lord is faithful blessed be his name joseph beggs |

News from Ukraine mission |

My thanks to my brothers and sisters for their prayers while on the mission field. 2 orphanages were visited and it was heart breaking to see children with shoes in pieces and socks full of holes. The LORD while on the mission field supplied new trainors and socks for all the children in both orphanages, over 200 pairs of trainers and 3 pairs of new socks each. Prisons were also visited and in one prison the guards were concerened about the numbers wanting to attend the meeting. It was an encouragement to the team to watch so many young men in prison come to the meetng to hear the gospel. All seats were filled and over 300 souls heard the gospel and I could see that many of these young men were challenged as their eyes could not hide the effect of the words of salvation and the caring words of the SAVIOUR upon them. Hospitals were also visited and it was a blessing to see all the new beds and hospital mattresses in use for the comfort of the sick that had been supplied by the Lord. On the last night before journeying home we were able to speak at a drug rehabilitation centre and one young man who had been on drugs for 15 years came to the LORD. The rest of the trip was taken up with meetings in churches that would make us think about our own commitment to the Lord.All seats were filled and many people were standing in the doorway and outside to hear the sermons. Souls were reached and the saints of God were encouraged and yes I did get the opportunity to sing on many occassions , even in the prisons and christian schools. Thankfullly the LORD had given me new songs to take with me which I shall soon record and release. I was only home 1 day and already was thankfully called upon to do a gig at a local church. This was a great encouragement to me and a privalege to encourage christians on home ground also. Sadly the christian school that we were hoping to bulid came up against to many obsticles from paperwork and red tape. We are hoping to be able to rent a buiding so that the christian school can remain opened. Please pray for this,it needs much prayer. Ukraine mission trip prayer request |

Well the time has come to go of on another mission to Ukraine. We will be leaving on Friday morning the 13th April at 5am and arriving in Kharkov at 1am the following night . Please remember the school as we are sourcing land to build on as well .Also the outreach to the children in the 2 christian schools and we will also be at hospitals,orphanages and 5 prisons on this trip. Pray for the witness of the team,Donald,John,Jaqualine,Laura and myself. Pray most importantly for the preaching of Gods word that souls may be encouraged and that precious souls may be saved. New song uploaded for free download titled Christ won`t let you down.This song came about as I take a meeting once a month in a fold for the elderly. It is always a blessing to do this and to remember that no matter how old we are we are always 18 inside. Age of grace new song for free download |

Hi, I have just finished putting together songs for my latest Album called Age of grace. The Lord has been directing my hand at song writing lately. The song came about because of the odd warm day that we have had in February. I thank the Lord for such days but it reminded me that we forget to thank Him that we are in the Age of grace because of His love and sacrafice on the cross. I have been practicing for a praise night this Friday were I will be playing songs from this new Album. I am also looking forward to my trip( if the Lord should tarry) to the Ukraine in April. I believe I will be singing more on this trip than preaching. I am definitely taking my own guitar this time though as the choice of guitars with all six strings was limited the last time. Please contiue to pray for the mission trip in April that the Lord alone will be seen and not the works of man and that precious souls will be saved. your brother in Christ joseph beggs |

update on school in Ukraine |

Many thanks to everyone for your prayers. The Lord has answered them and we have the go ahead to build the school. Much work lies ahead with land to be purchased.founds to be laid and the actual school building will be transported in sections from Northern Ireland to Kharkov in Ukraine. A bit of flying to and fro will need to be done to sort out the paperwork and plans. The Lord is in control all praise and all honour to the King of Kings. Please pray for a container that will be going to the Ukraine. On Thursday 25th January the container will be packed with hospital beds,mattresses and dialisis machines for 9 hospitals in the Ukraine. This aid is delivered by the Lords people upon arrival in the Ukraine to the hospital. It is because of this aid and their love for the sick that they can witness in the hospitals. What is special about this work is that one hospital alone covers 8 million people,therefore many souls are being reached and the word of God is sown never to return void.This is one of many 40 foot containers that the Lord has supplied and many souls have came to the Lord through this work. As a further update to the building of a christian school in the Ukraine. Things are going along very well and a visit to the Ukraine is planned in February 2007 to source a building site for the school. I will keep everyone updated as things develop. Please remember in prayer the Regeneration christian school in the Ukraine. This Tuesday 19th December 2006. Their is an important meeting taking place between the director of Faith in action missions and an important businessman in Northern Ireland. This man is being approached to finance the work required to rebuild this school. It is important that this school remains open as it is a central part of christian training in the lives of young children in this region. Please take time out to remeber this important meeting on Tue morning.
