I wrote this with a friend in mind, feeling that sometimes life is so busy, with a routine of daily life that seems to go on for ever. Sometimes God reminds us of the simplicities in being alive and this song is about getting back to that. I had a very strong visual image of this person feeling the need to leave the house and just walk across a beautiful meadow by the house, smelling flowers, listening to the birds sing, feeling the breeze and appreciating all that the senses take in. The visual image was strong and I wanted to represent this in the song, so listen carefully and youll actually hear the birds and the breeze..
