“Deep was the night” is everyone’s experience on the way of following Christ. So it’s easy to understand what the song is about and feel deeply not only the heavily burdened “night of the soul”, but also the joyful “light of the morning” when the burden is laid down at the foot of the cross. The song is one of the precious pearls the Lord has inspired Susan Greydanus to create musically and poetically. Along with the beautiful, wisely minimal piano arrangement of Patrick Brandon and sincerely heartfelt vocal of Ronald Greydanus, it gives you a very blessed impression and the pleasure of gratitude to Jesus.
