Song Information:

written by adam baker in june 05, with help of iain griffon Is 40- inspired the verse Both me and lain had been sharing our thoughts over a period of time about Is 40 and 39 we were studying it together and decided to write a song about what we had been reading together. I remembered I had written the words of the chorus a few weeks prior and I joined the 2 songs together. When I previously wrote what is now the chorus it was written by me when listening to a song by the David Crowder band called open skies. I think it may have been raining as well when I wrote it although I cant remember but I just remember the idea of Gods holy spirit raining down on us. This had been a topic I was sharing in yf / preparing to share and I called it open skies. So I joined the 2 songs together. They fitted and thats how the majority of the song was written. The bridge came about more recently when I just began to repeat the end of the chorus to a different chord sequence. Basically it is about letting God open up his heavenly skies to pour out his holy spirit on our lives as we wait before him.
