Biography Peter and Dyane Goodman are a husband and wife duo from north Yorkshire.
Peter has been playing and writing since he was a teenager and has been in and out of various bands for many years. Then, both or us became Christians and every thing changed in our lives, including the music. It took on a completely new direction. Suddenly we were writing together. This was very exciting, new and fresh. This time the music was about God and how Jesus is alive! I, (Dyane) had never really taken music seriously before becoming a christian. Ocasionally I would sing along to tunes while Peter played his guitar at home. I even wrote a few words to them but soon forgot about them but when Christ entered my life I became full of love for him and the music and words just flowed. I also found a new confidence and it has grown from there. We have had several songs on the NCM European chart sitting there amongst top christian uk artist such as Delirious, Cliff Richard and Americas Michael W Smith. We now get radio airplay all over the world reaching people with our songs about Christ. Also we had one of our early demos played on revelation tv Sky network. We write from the heart. Every song is like a secret journey. Never quite knowing where it will go. We are a trio really, with the holy spirit leading. We try to be sensitive to what God is saying. Music is a language in its self and part of understanding is communicating and listening to each other but especially to God. We try to portray this in our songs. ARTICLE from The STAGE - Nov 27 2003 Peter Goodman was a window cleaner who played in a punk band. His wife Dyane was a clairvoyant who did not sing a note until her late thirties. Yet from such unlikely beginnings has come a Christian music duo Joyola. "I used to watch my husband play", says Dyane. "But it was only three years ago when we became Christians that I started to sing and write with him. It was an organic development. It came along with the faith. "I didn't actually want to be a Christian," Dyane adds. "But God kept showing me things and I realised there was another meaning to life. The music is an extension of that." Having played locally in Yorkshire, the couple have begun to reach a wider audience through well received tracks on the New Christian Music CD, a various artists sampler issued to DJ's and the press throughout the UK and Europe. They are planning to record their debut album next year. "But more importantly than that, if we were in a church hall with 20 people and the music meant something to one person, it would mean as much to us as being on a big stage with an audience of thousands."
