Mick McIvor has been serving the Christian Bands scene In Australia for a long time. In fact since the early 80's when there really wasn't much of a Christian Bands scene to speak of. In 2003, his work was recognised with a nomination for the Golden Gospel Artist of the year. An award for extensive service to the Gospel Music industry. He is still a prolific writer & performer and influences a generation of contemporary writers & performers. In 2006, Mick will release 2 more albums of his own, as well as produce & contribute to an album which his church is releasing. With a strong roots influence, his unique guitar style is hard to define. Interestingly much of his writing & live performance is driven by over 20 years working as a retreat director for schools in Australia. Lately, he has teamed up with long time friend Mark Rombout & together they have explored a contemporary Celtic fusion that is powerful & moving. His music works well in church, or just being listened to quietly in your lounge room.
