I am now on air with 90.1 Hope FM. Hope FM is a community station based in Bournemouth, Dorset. I present a show on a Thursday that has a 30 - 40 minute interview slot that I dedicate to new/unsigned artists or bands from both the Christian and the secular music fields.

Well, since the first entry on this blog thing, a few months have passed. It would be great to say that everything has been plain sailing, but the truth is, it has not. The Lord has felt that certain challenges were neccessary, and with the benefit of hindsight, I would not now argue, but there have been testing times. I can now give praise to the Lord for those times and also thanks because I feel I am a better person for having faced and overcome the challenges so far. I am certain there will be more.

SonRise Radio keeps going from strength to strength, CD's arrive almost daily and keeping up with them can be a challenge in itself, but to those that have submitted CD's I now pass on my thanks, and should anyone wish to send CD's, send me an email and I will forward my details.

This coming year is looking to be very busy. SonRise Radio is very much involved with the forthcoming Golden Jubilee European Tour of The Mid South Boys from the USA. We are also involved in a Christmas tour that is now in the final planning stages, and involve a good number of Christian artists coming over to the UK from the USA.

As a station we are still looking to give airtime to any Christian artist wether signed, unsigned, professional, semi-pro, or who just have a heart to sing for the Lord. Just get in touch!

Well, first off, this blogging lark is new to me, I suppose it's like a journal, only publicly available. So, with that in mind, it would seem that the first entry should include a little of who I am and why I am here..

I am Paul, 44, married with four children. I am the managing director of SonRise Radio Ltd, and my reason for being here on this fantastic site is to find great music and make contact with the artists, giving them the opportunity to get there work aired on Sonrise Radio.

Why a leap of faith? on Monday 30th of October, after many months of prayer and reflection, I left my nice comfortable full time job as a stock supervisor for a retail company in the UK in order to concentrate on making SonRise Radio the most successful online radio station available on the internet

SonRise Radio began transmitting as Christ FM in 2005. On Jan 03 2006, SonRise Radio LTD was registered at Companies House. February 1st 2006 saw the launch of the re-branded Christ FM as SonRise Radio. The project started out in faith and has continued to survive on faith. Wendy Donelan and Myself were the founding directors to whom the vision for a radio station was initially given. We were promised in prayer by the Lord, that everything that we NEEDED would be supplied at the correct times. To date the Lord has not failed us in that promise and I know that He never will. We have received fantastic support in the form of CD's from many artists, some of which can be found on www.mychristianbands,com, we also receive CD's from EMI. Integrity Music, Lamon Records, Eddie Crook Publishing, Universal Music Group, Becky Simmonds Publishing and many more - God has truly been working on our behalf.

The leap of faith comes into play when you realise that to date, SonRise Radio has not made one penny of profit!! But the Lord has still been edging me to the point where in orderfor the Station to grow, I have to have more hours available in which to do the work. The only way that this could happen is for me to give up my full time job and take on early morning and evening work, this the Lord has made possible.

So there we have it, SonRise Radio is now my full time occupation and I am looking forward to the challenges that the Lord has in store for me over the coming weeks, months and years. I hope that through Simon's fantastic site I will be able to make contact with any artists who wish to have their work aired, and also to make new friends and contacts.
