Do you ever wonder about the human faces behind a website?  I know I do.  So this is a little bit about us - the story so far as it were........just in case you were interested.

Music has been my life.  Brought up in a Christian home, I began to learn piano at the age of 5.  Was the church pianist at the age of 12 and started teaching music at 17.  At 19 I left home (Northern Ireland) to study theology at Elim Bible College in the South of England, and after graduation served a short time in the Elim ministry.

Now, 20 years on from my time at Elim Bible College, my wife and I, Royanne, run one of the largest and most popular Christian web hosting companies in the world.  www.GodsWeb.co.uk  Founded in 1999.

That business/ministry was set up on the basis that one day, it would not only provide a valuable service to Christians and churches all over the world, but that it would also sow into other online ministries.  As God has blest us in the GodsWeb business, so it too supports the vision and passion that is ChristianBands.

The primary purpose of the site is to provide a platform for those artists/bands who have a talent and an anointing in Christian music to be able to expose their music to the world.  A place for artists to network, learn, encourage each other and receive feedback from those who listen to and purchase their music.  The music fan. 

As an artist, it matters not whether you have a large record company or promoters behind you, or whether you record from home and self publish/promote, the internet now makes it possible to put your music into the hands of millions across the world. 

There are many rewarding aspects of what mCB is all about.  One of the greatest gems is to hear from artists who had all but given up in their craft, and who now are having their songs recorded by other artists, played on radio stations across the world and sung in churches on the other side of the world to where they are.  Never mind mastercard, we call that, 'priceless'.

A songwriter, I have worked in recording studios, played and produced several albums.  I have a deep passion for Christian music and getting it heard by as many people as possible.  I thank God for the position I find myself, through GodsWeb, to be able to devote so much time and effort into achieving this vision.  

I'm in now way a singer, but I do have a heart for worshipping my Lord and leading others into worship through music.

ChristianBands.co.uk was conceived, planned and eventually launched on the 21st January 2005.

Initially launched as a UK site, it attracted a wide range of artists from all over the globe.  Indeed, more than 70% of the visitors to the site were not based in the UK.  The site you see now is the 2nd site.  More than 800 artist and bands from all over the world have auditioned.  Less than 1 in 5 are accepted.  The reason simply being to keep the standard high and raise the bar of encouragement to emerging and developing artists.

With 3 years experience behind us, artist and listener feedback heeded, we now have strategic partnerships in place with radio stations, promoters, record labels and TV companies.  The vision of myChristianBands.com to simply become a treasure of Christian music and to be a global platform for Christian artists.  We can see that is rapidly falling into place. 

mCB is, first and foremost, a community of friends, with a wealth of talent and a passion to serve God.  With such a powerful message to spread, we hope that you, artist/band/listener/industry pro will seek to support the vision and dream of myChristianBands.com as we watch and wonder where the story will take us next and where we will be in 3 short years from now.   Jump on board!
